I can't remember the last time that I gave a Monroe book five stars even though I love all of them for the most part. I don't think that I've even given books with Tommy in it four stars but I need to review the last book about Tommy for it certainly deserves 5 stars. I was more interested in the review of Barkbad, who is an excellent reviewer. I loved this book, as I do any of the books with Reno, Tommy, Sal, Mick and Charles working together. I wish I had some uncles like them. Two problems: one, the book is too short even though full of action; and the second problem is how did they know about Trevor to pick him up in Las Vegas. I must have missed something, or were they looking for him at the places on the list? I think Reno and Tommy gansta as Mick and Sal, if not more. Now we find out that Charles also has it in him. I could say a lot about this book but don't want to spoil it. Can't wait for the next book.
Each and every time, M Monroe puts a book out , it’s an automatic purchase. It is guaranteed; suspense, hot and sexy alpha males, strong women, hot love scenes, family ties, gangster(isk) action, and a traitor in the mist.It may sound a bit predictable, and I must say I look forward to these qualities in a book. However, you never know the subject, the twist and turns, and you can never tell how the storyline changes the games for the characters involved. She is good at what she does.In this book, Big daddy Sinatra, was tested, it was his strength, attitude, and heart. Messing with his is something he will not handle very well. In his own way, he always tried to be fair, but tough with his expectations of his children and his businesses. But to push him to the edge, makes the book another page turning success.Also, I think there are some new characters coming in the future, there's always that element of another person to look more into.
I made the "good" mistake of checking late last night to see if "Papa Don't Play" was released and found that it was. What did that mean? That I had to have it and had to read it all in one night!!! Sitting here at work bleary eyed and still pumped from the book!!! To me, this is the "best" of the "family get togethers"!! Big Daddy is Big Daddy is Big Daddy!!!! Loved, loved, loved the story. Definitely a must read and is the best of Charles Sinatra!!! Story was well developed; sex scenes were just right; Jenay didn't have to get totally gangster; and Mr. Trevor was the man Charles needed him to be for his Carly. Again, loved, loved, loved the story!!!
I was hoping that Trevor was some kind of mob boss that even Mick had heard of or something to the nature, but this was just as good. The cousin seems to be another character that's going to be good to follow along with seeing how deep he seems to be in. I always love when the guys all get together but I was so ready for Charles to stop with all the false hopes and just grab hold of who he really was.He's been in so many off the books illegal mess that he is finally realizing that he's just as crooked as the rest of the men. The adults/kids still need to grow up, but they have nothing on Mick's lot so that's good as well. I think its time to either get back to Reno with some drama or bring Trevor forward with his. Then again, we may need Jimmy to step up and bring it but at this point the guys need some new issues and new problems that actually hold up to what these characters can bring. Great read.
I enjoyed this novel and read it straight to the end. The Sinatra family keeps getting larger. I was excited to read what the deal was with Trevor Reese. The action scenes had me screaming. The next book will be about the crazy ex and distant relatives who are not distant enough. Charles Sinatra is a tough as his nephew's and younger brother. Jimmy Mack needs to step up and acknowledge how his actions made it easier for their enemies to attack them. He is an adult and should do some self reflection. I loved the book and will read it again.
This book, like all of the others in the series, was stellar! The plot was well thought out and executed. I enjoyed seeing another side of Big Daddy's personally develop. The author did a great job in fleshing out the intricacies of both the extended and immediate family dynamics. Additionally, the background and nuances in the relationships between each of the siblings and their father was well written and touching. Trevor Reese and Carly have been positioned to have some great stories to be written about them in the future. I can't wait to see what comes next for the Sinatras and Gabrinnis.
Ms. Monroe almost gave me heart with book, I am so glad that my orignal OMG reaction was false. You almost had me there Ms. Monroe. Jenay and Charles are happily in love and enjoying their children, but the gretch is always trying to steal Christmas. Charles must once again protect is empire to find out the threat to his empire was a ruse to attach the ones that his loves. When will these fools learn that when you mess with one you bring them all? The Gabrini's and Sinatra's protect their family.
